Shaun grew up on his family’s ranch in a small rural mountain town in Southern California, about an hour from Palm Desert. His passion for animation and graphic arts began during high school at the nearby Idyllwild Arts Academy.

Shaun pursued this passion further at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the California Institute of the Arts, both with a focus on animation. After college, Shaun returned to his hometown to teach animation at the Arts Academy while launching his freelance practice, Third Mill Studio, named after the broken windmill near the barn where he worked.

In 2011, Shaun moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he taught 3D Animation for ID Tech Camps before transitioning into motion graphics production. In 2016, he joined the cinema advertising company Before The Movie as a Motion Graphics Artist. By 2022, Shaun was promoted to Creative Director, a role he continues to this day.
